You have been invited to attend our Perth Scorchers School Ambassador Teacher Professional Development Workshop with Keynote Speaker Priya Cooper – “Success is a Choice”.

About Priya Cooper
Priya Cooper OAM has represented Australia at 3 Paralympic Games in 1992,1996 and 2000 winning 9 Gold medals, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze. She was given the honour of carrying the flag at the closing ceremony of the 1992 Games and captained Australia at the 1996 and 2000 games.

Having completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion/Journalism at Curtin University Priya worked for Channel 7 in Sydney as a TV presenter and commentated at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Since moving back to Perth she has worked in the not-for-profit sector aligning with her strong belief that everyone can succeed no matter what their circumstances and challenges. Through her motivational speaking business she addresses crowds globally on various topics such as ‘Success is a Choice’.

Priya and husband Rod have 2 beautiful children, Olivia 12 and Harrison 10. She also loves being stepmum to Zac who is 25.

Priya is President of WA Disabled Sports Association, Deputy Chairperson of Disability Services Commission and a board member at the Ability Centre and Venues West.

In 2015 Priya was given the highest honour in Australian sport being inducted into the Sports Australia Hall of Fame.

School Ambassadors, clubs and WACA staff are invited to be inspired and listen to Priya Cooper our highly regarded keynote speaker.

Priya aims to remind every audience member that goals can be achieved no matter how far away they may be. Renowned for discussing her experiences with disability and competitive sport and overcoming obstacles to achieve success.
